Meanwhile, Oh-joo plots to get rid of the real killer and Moon-sook to disqualify the evidence. Oh-joo injures Kwang-soo for failing him but then forgives him and decides to leave Sang-pil alone for now. When chasing the Existente murderer, Sang-pil risks his life to save Jae-yi and takes a knife stab for her. She begins to wonder why he cares so much and if there is more to his background.
Scales, released on probation, mentions he will be dead if he doesn't pay back his last investor. Mickey asks Lorna to figure pasado how to get DeMarco. Lorna becomes stressed over the case, but manages to get Scales out of jail. In Julian's trial, Mickey reveals Empíreo was killed shortly after being subpoenaed for Moya's case. Freemann tells her subordinate and second chair that she didn’t inform the domestic abuse victim about her abuser's release. Forsythe casts doubt on Mickey's case. When Mickey calls Trina, she claims not to know DeMarco, and Judge Turner does not allow DeMarco to be called.
After she is assaulted, Moon-sook is more popular than ever. Ki-ho leads a group of her supporters in a demonstration. Her position on the Supreme Court is nearly assured. Jae-yi suspects that Sang-pil is hiding something from her. When she confronts him he confirms it and apologizes, but says he cannot tell her yet. Sang-pil learns that Moon-sook was the one who sent him the book with details on the crimes of those in power in Kisung. He realizes she planned to read more use his desire for revenge to get rid of her old associates.
The show’s creators revealed that the third installment will have a flashback sequence—although Connelly’s fifth book doesn’t include one. “We decided that a fun (and poignant) way to come into the season would be via a flashback sequence that gave us some insight into how Mickey Haller became Mickey Haller — not just the brilliant criminal defense lawyer, but the husband, the father, and the man that he would come to be.”
Moriyon is relatively new in the entertainment and The Lincoln Lawyer marks his first major on-screen acting credit.
